# Sports.Life — Frequently Asked Questions ## What is Sports.Life? Sports.Life (https://sports.life) is a sports-culture social platform and collectible card game. Members design and mint their own sports trading cards, collect them in a binder, battle them head-to-head against other members, and play arcade and brain-training games. ## Does Sports.Life cost anything? No. Creating an account and playing is free. The in-app currency, SLG, is play money that is earned through play; it has no cash value and cannot be cashed out. ## Is Sports.Life gambling or sports betting? No. There is no wagering on real sporting events and no cash prizes or payouts. Everything staked or spent inside the game is play currency or in-game cards. ## Are the athletes on the cards real? The game's own cards feature original, fictional subjects, teams and leagues, and Sports.Life is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or licensed from any real league, team or athlete. Members can also upload a photo of their own, which mints as a display-only showcase card that stays out of the game economy. ## What is SLG? SLG is the in-app play currency. It is earned through playing and spent on minting cards, renting decks and other in-game services. It can be banked in the Vault for interest or borrowed against at the Pawn Shop. ## How do I make my own card? Sign in, open Mint Studio, choose a subject and an art style, generate the art (or upload a photo), and mint. The finished card lands in your Binder with a grade, printed stats and a serial number in its set. Cards minted from an uploaded photo are display-only showcase cards. ## How do card battles work? Build a deck, then either challenge another member from Messages or play the House, the built-in computer opponent. Matches are turn-based duels run on the server, so neither side can see the other's hidden cards until they are revealed. Modes include Flip & Roll, Siege, Battle Paws, Gods of Titanis, Cosmic Battle, Amalgamation, chess duels and SL1 Racing. ## Can I trade cards with other members? Yes, in the Trade Center. You can also stake a card in a "For Keeps" battle, where the winner takes an agreed card. ## Do I need an account to look around? No. The home page, public profiles, the leaderboard, the battle hub, community listings, the glossary and the terms are open to everyone. A free account is needed to mint, battle, trade or play games. ## What games can I play besides card battles? An arcade of sports mini-games — darts, free throw, home run derby, baseball, skee-ball, air hockey, bowling, table tennis, foosball, slap shot, QB toss, pinball and several cosmic action cabinets — plus brain-training puzzles including speed anagram, word grid, letter rush, a daily word challenge, sudoku, mahjong and solitaire. Each posts to a shared global top-score board. ## Can I play on my phone? Yes. The site works in a mobile browser, and there is a companion mobile app. ## How is my rank decided? Your overall rank blends your battle record, the quality of your collection and your SLG standing into one ladder position, shown on the leaderboard. ## What is a Handle? Your Handle is your public name on Sports.Life — the @name on your profile. It is separate from the email or account you sign in with. ## How do I get started? 1. Open https://sports.life and create a free account. 2. Pick your Handle. 3. Mint your first card in Mint Studio. 4. Build a deck and take a practice match against the House, then challenge another member.
